Engraving Product Problems...

Smearing.
Engraving lasers burn material to produce a mark or a cut which means the material released is at a high temperature. Many types of fume extractor run on full speed all of the time which causes this hot material to be dragged and smeared onto the product which is usually impossible to clean off.

Purex engraving laser extractors on the other hand use a speed control system which the operator can use to finely adjust the extraction rate to prevent smearing and therefore expensive rejects.

Engraving materials.
Each different engraving material is made from all sorts of chemical elements held together in complex ways, sometimes using various bonding agents such as glues, resins etc. This means that the content of the fumes which are produced by an engraving laser are extremely varied.

Another headache from a filtration point of view is that engraving lasers by their very nature are used by hundreds of very different industries including - shops, schools, the military, laboratories, engineers, gift manufacturers, modellers, etc.
